Our Swimwear Sewing Intensive is a premium hands-on sewing course designed to teach you the foundations of professional swimwear construction, from understanding stretch fabrics and elastic application to customizing and sewing your own swimsuit designs with confidence.

Whether you’re preparing for Carnival, a vacation, building your sewing skills, or exploring the idea of launching your own swimwear brand, this intensive gives you the technical foundation needed to confidently work with swimwear fabrics and construction techniques.

Over six hands-on sessions, you’ll master the techniques most home sewists never learn: working with nylon and spandex fabrics, understanding negative ease and stretch percentage, and applying swimwear elastic for a clean, professional finish. And unlike most swimwear classes, you won’t have to choose between styles every student constructs a full one-piece swimsuit AND a bikini before the course ends.

This specialty swimwear sewing intensive program  is only offered once yearly and features small-group instruction for a more guided and supportive learning experience.

What You’ll Learn In This Swimwear Sewing Class In Trinidad 

Throughout this 6-session swimwear sewing intensive in Trinidad & Tobago, students will learn:

• Understanding stretch fabrics, stretch percentages & negative ease
• How to confidently sew lycra/spandex fabrics
• Elastic application techniques for professional finishes
• Working with lining and proper swimwear construction methods
• Stretch sewing machine settings & stitch selection
• Swimwear pattern manipulation techniques (monokini & bikini)
• Basic fit adjustments and customization
• Clean finishing techniques for swimwear
• Construction techniques for one-piece and bikini styles

Students will also complete guided technical practice exercises before beginning garment construction to build confidence when working with stretch fabrics.

To secure your spot, a non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit amount and payment structure are outlined at checkout. Your space is only confirmed once payment is received. Payment plans may be available, with the remaining balance due by the start of the first class.

TM Academy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes with insufficient enrollment. In such cases, fees paid will be refunded or transferred to a future class date. A minimum number of students is required for classes to proceed.
